2025 DRFFA Scholarship Recipients

Dallas Retired Fire Fighters Association 2025 Scholarship Program Recipients

The Dallas Retired Fire Fighters Association and the Dallas Fire Fighters Association are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 scholarships.  We are awarding eleven scholarships this year to deserving family members of the Dallas Fire Rescue Department for their academic achievements, dedication, and aspirations.  The DRFFA & the DFFA are awarding ten $2000 scholarships, and the independent scholarship selection committee is donating one $2000 scholarship.  We are forever grateful for our exemplary selection committee again this year and sincerely appreciate their contribution of an additional scholarship. It is a time-consuming process as there were many, many deserving applicants. We wish our 2025 scholarship recipients the best of luck in achieving their academic goals.

Brody Berry, grandson of retired member Tim Berry, is a senior at Celina High School with a GPA of 4.03. He plans to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University to study Engineering, and he aspires to become a pilot.

Armand Calderon, son of active member Steve Calderon, attends Wylie High School. He plans to study Business and play football at Aurora University in Illinois. His goal is to become a firefighter like his father.

Ava Clower is the daughter of active member Robby Clower. She attends Rockwall-Heath High School with a 4.57 GPA and plans to attend the University of Arkansas. Her goal is to become a digital marketer focusing on women’s health.

Colt Crane is the son of active member Cory Crane. He attends Whitewright High School with a GPA of 5.5 and plans to attend Tarleton State University to earn a degree in Business. His goal is to become a management professional in the world of sports.

Payton Green is the granddaughter of retired member Greg Moffat. She attends Winnsboro High School with a GPA of 4.75. She plans to attend the University of Arkansas and to become a nurse.

Blake Hill is the son of active member Felicia Hill. He is a senior at Midlothian Heritage High School and has a GPA of 4.25. He plans to attend Texas A & M University and to earn a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Rylin Hoggatt is the daughter of active member Burl Hoggatt. She attends Midlothian High School and plans to attend Tarleton State University. Her goal is to earn a degree in Business and to open her own bakery.

Sarah Hornick is the daughter of active member Bill Hornick. She is a student at Nolan Catholic High School. She plans to attend Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where she will study Biology and Psychology. She then hopes to attend law school and earn an MBA to become a corporate lawyer in the field of biotechnology.

Eliza Lackey is the daughter of active member Gregory Lackey. In high school she spent four years studying Culinary Arts in the Rockwall Independent School District. She is currently on the Chancellor’s List at the University of Arkansas and plans to continue her study in Food Science.

Kathryn Tucker is the granddaughter of retired member Kenneth Tucker. She is in the top 1% of her class at Kaufman High School with a GPA of 5.31. She plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University to study Biology. Her goal is to become a Physician’s Assistant.

Layne Yudizky is the grandson of retired member Mike Yudizky. He attends Rockwall-Heath High School with a GPA of 4.94. He plans to attend Fort Hays State University in Kansas and play football, while working on a degree in Finance and Accounting. He then will pursue an MBA.
